A creative studio in 3d animation vfx and 2d - Work - Commercials - Films - Series - All - Demoreel - Studio - Careers - Contact Character Lookdev Artist Project: TV Series - Rabbids Location: Angoulême, France (on-site position) Start date: October 26th Contract: 1-year contract ABOUT THE JOB As part of the Stim team, you will work in direct collaboration with the Art Director and technical teams to define and develop the visual appearance (look development, textures, and shaders) of characters for our series project, Rabbids. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES - Lead the character look development process (shading, texturing, grooming setups) to achieve the desired artistic vision and visual quality. - Create and apply high-quality shaders and textures for characters in accordance with artistic and technical guidelines. - Collaborate closely with the Art Director, Character Designers, Modelers, and downstream departments (Rigging, Lighting) to ensure visual consistency throughout the production. - Maintain clear technical documentation and template setups for the character lookdev pipeline. REQUIRED SKILLS - Solid experience in Character Look Development within the animation or visual effects (VFX) industry. - Excellent knowledge of Maya, Arnold, and industry-standard texturing tools (Substance Painter, Mari...). - Strong understanding of shading, color space, color management, lighting, and rendering methods applied to characters. - Solid experience with node-based software and architectures (Katana, Gaffer, Houdini, Solaris...). - Great organizational, communication, and time management skills within a team environment. - Fluency in English or French. NICE TO HAVE - Proficiency in grooming tools and workflows (XGen, Houdini, etc.). - In-depth proficiency in Gaffer / Katana / Solaris / Houdini. - Knowledge of Python, OSL, or scripting tools to optimize lookdev workflows. - Please include your portfolio and/or demo reel, your CV, and any other relevant materials that may help us evaluate your work.
